TROOP 221's YEAR 2000 AT H. ROE BARTLE

The Troop Committee would like to take this opportunity to "Thank" everyone who attended Visitors Sunday at H. Roe Bartle this year. Your presence was a major factor in making it such a successful day and the abundance of food showed our guests that we are a "top notch" Troop.

Camping Season 2000 at H. Roe Bartle Reservation is behind us and again we had another banner year. There were 47 Scouts including 18 first year campers, and 179 merit badges were earned plus 2 snorkeling and a one-mile swim.
We had 5 Braves, 2 Warriors, 1 Scout received his Eagle Coups, 5 received the new Religious Coups, all recognized by the Tribe of Mic-O-Say this year.
Also, we had one of our Scouts on Staff this year. Another banner Camp Session for Troop 221!

Loyal Disagreement (General Colin Powell)

How does one of America's most decorated and loyal soldiers define the word "loyalty?"

General Powell: "When we are debating an issue, loyalty means giving me your honest opinion, whether you think I'll like it or not.
Disagreement, at this stage, stimulates me. But once a decision has been made, the debate ends. From that point on, loyalty means executing the decision as if it were your own."(1)

The next time someone confuses loyalty with blind obedience, read them the words of General Colin Powell.
